What Does Our Paint Correction Process Fix On Your Automobile?

Vehicles are built to be driven, which means they often come into contact with staining contaminants and harsh road hazards. Even when your vehicle sits, it runs the risk of experiencing damage from defect-inflicting dangers that are sitting right in your home garage. This is a fact of life, and is precisely why we offer some of the most comprehensive paint correction packages in our area.

Some of the more common surface defects that we remedy here at Black Label Car Care of Wichita, Kansas include the following:

  • Light scratches
  • Swirl marks
  • Oxidation
  • Paint stains
  • Holograms
  • Etching
  • Marring
  • Paint chips

If you do not see something listed here that you need corrected, please contact our trained and experienced paint correction crew today to ask about your specific vehicle. It is of value to note that our team always performs a thorough surface inspection after an initial exterior detail to make sure we are performing the best option of our two vehicle paint correction packages available. We may recommend you upgrade if your paint is notably defective.

The Black Label Car Care Paint Correction Process

Exterior Detailing

Paint correction is an art form, and our artists must start with a blank canvas. Therefore, we perform a comprehensive two bucket hand wash, clay-bar decontamination, and a safe drying method to remove all dust, dirt, and environmental contaminants that distract our paint correction crew from seeing all discrepancies on your paint.

Vehicle Inspection

A closer look is always needed. What may appear to be a surface defect sometimes may actually be an optical illusion under natural light. Because of this, our paint correction team here at Black Label Car Care takes an intense look at all of your painted surfaces under the power of an LED shop light, revealing in extreme detail what we need to correct.

Paint Correction Process

This is a subjective step, contingent on what your vehicle needs and what paint

correction package of ours you selected. If you are just in for a simple polish (similar to what we do following some of our detailing packages), we aim for light defect removal and gloss enhancement, whereas more defective automobiles benefit from cutting with compounds.

Flawless Finish Work

No matter what your vehicle calls for, we always finish with a swirl-free buff and polish, which enhances your newly corrected paint in ways never before seen! This process deepens your paintwork’s

details and adequately prepares all exterior surfaces for a protective ceramic coating application. We also ad a short-term paint sealant for protection until you decide on a more comprehensive exterior coating.

FAQs About Our Vehicle Paint Correction Process

  • What is cutting and compounding exactly?

This step in our paint correction process here at Black Label Car Care is where our detailing professionals abrade away some of the vehicle’s clear coat, where most of the defects reside. However, rest assured that we do not remove any of your actual paint, ONLY the clear coat. Any defects that have broken through to the paintwork must be repainted.

  • Does paint correction completely fix all defects?

As you can see from our Multi-Stage Polish paint correction package, our best service aims to remove up to 90% of your vehicle’s surface defects. But keep in mind, vehicle paint correction handles minor surface defects, such as light scratches, swirl marks, and oxidation. It cannot fix serious damage that has broken to your natural paintwork.

  • Can I correct the paint on my new car?

This is a highly beneficial endeavor, actually! Here at Black Label Car Care, we work on all different age ranges of automobiles, and we find that new cars and trucks often already have light scratches from transit, swirl marks from poor detailing at a dealership, and even the occasional stain from sitting out on the dealership’s lot. Correcting the paint of a new vehicle increases the finish depth and adds new value.

  • Should I consider a ceramic coating right after my paint correction?

We at Black Label Car Care certainly encourage this above all else. While we may add a short-term protective paint sealant to your finish following either one of our paint correction packages, they in no way compare to the quality and beauty of our ceramic coating packages.
